We attend a relationshop seminar organise by the church. From the seminar, there was a chart that describe the 4 different types of characters and the different motivation methods.
We believe Abby belongs to the Retriever, that is relax in nature, a mediator between friends, and the keyword to this type of character is 'Peace'. She likes to be in the midst of friends, and is not concern where and what they will be doing. That really describe her profile.
Because this group of people desires to please others, the most effective motivator is to tell her that in doing what she is suppose to do, she is really helping other people.
Joshua is a obvious Otto, the keyword to this type of personality is 'Party', love fun, and also a crowd pleaser. He may be the influencer, but may not be a dominating character like the Lion.
To motivate an Otto, the best way is to tell him that if he do not perform a specific task, he will be left alone, or take away certain privileages.
